Ban on glass-coated kite strings
A ban has been imposed against flying kites made of nylon twines and strings coated with glass powder in Brazil. But people are still using it. After some bikers^ throats got slashed, they come up with this idea to save bikers~ lives.
In fact, it is a serious problem. When kids fly kites near big roads, the lines sometimes end up hanging over the road, posing a deadly risk for passing motorcyclists. (To see some pictures of what the kite line can do, click here. WARNING: VERY GRAPHIC PHOTOS)
Two years ago on a highway, our car got caught of a glass kite line.
The front from left to right was scratched even the paint came off.
